May I tell you a clean, family-friendly story?

Lion & Rose Soap Company was born in 2011, right in between my two daughters. From the beginning, family has been at its center. My son, Leo, and my daughters, Somerset and Rosalie, are the reason I pour myself into handcrafting these beautiful soaps. In fact, Lion & Rose got its name from my beloved children, and they continue to push me forward in creating something beautiful for their legacy.

On my way to soapmaking, I got a graphic design degree that paid the bills but left my soul wanting. The 2D world of print marketing was too flat and uninviting for this girl. So I decided it was time to get my hands dirty and allow myself a creative outlet.

It turns out that I ended up getting my hands clean instead. Squeaky clean! I jumped into soapmaking, and that hobby quickly turned into a business. Suddenly I was in love with the process of making gorgeous, luxurious pieces that could soothe and nourish the body, as well. Soon after, my line of safe and natural deodorants joined the family.

And I do mean the family. Lion & Rose is entirely about my family, from the name on up. The incredible love of my life, my husband Joe, supports and encourages me each step of the way. He even ran the farmer’s market booth for me after the birth of our daughter, Rosalie. And his enthusiasm and expertise helped me create our always-popular beer soap. Leo loves nothing more than to join me at the market, gleefully and confidently promoting this proud mama and her wares. His flair for the theater makes for excellent salesmanship!

Somerset happily works as my creative muse, suggesting color combinations that create stunning masterpieces. Unicorn Sparkle anyone? Rosalie is my sweet soul who, although not yet ready to work the market, is my calm cheerleader nonetheless.

My family is my happy place, my refuge, and a great source of pride. And so is Lion & Rose. I am so proud of the products I create and the way I can serve my family with this business. And it’s a blessing and an honor to serve my customers from this same place of love.
